Massage Therapy requires close contact. Please see below for our additional safety measures.
We use digital forms to decrease potential transmission. There are a total of three forms to complete before your appointment and should take five minutes total. You will receive a link to the forms via email/text from our system when you book online or a few days before your scheduled appointment.
To ensure safety and well-being, management has been proactive about increased cleaning and sanitation throughout the building and hand sanitizer is provided at the main entrance.
We have reduced the number of daily appointments to allow more time to clean between sessions to create a clean and safe environment. In addition to sanitizing the office, all surfaces you may come in contact with (the front door, elevators, doorbell and restroom) are cleaned as well.
Your Massage Therapist wears a mask at all times and changes masks between clients.
Durham, NC ordinance requires the wearing of masks and we follow this while face up. However, when face down, we have developed a method where you can remove your mask if you choose to breathe comfortably, yet still reduce risk for everyone.
The massage table is covered with a vinyl barrier sheet and silicone face rest cover that can be fully sanitized between sessions. An additional flannel sheet covering is added to both the table and face rest for your comfort and safety.
We switched from glasses to bottled water for now. (Please recycle!)
Hand sanitizer, made locally by Durham Distillery is available.
We added a TrueHEPAfiltration system which exchanges the room air 5 times per hour. (though there is some conflicting science here on average virus size vs.HEPAeffectiveness, most agree that combined with other safety efforts, this is worth the add in a small, enclosed space)
We added a humidifier to the room. (science shows that increased humidity levels make water droplets the virus travels on heavier, thus causing them to sink to the floor faster as opposed to a dry environment where droplets become lighter and spend more time airborne)
Safe practice standards we have always maintained and will continue to
Massage Therapists completely wash hands, forearms and elbows before and after every client.
Towels, sheets and cover blanket are changed between every client. Linens are laundered daily with hot water and disinfectant on a sanitize setting then dried on the hottest setting.
The face rest and attachment is wiped and sanitized between clients when the table covering is changed.
Tools are washed with hot soapy water and then sanitized immediately after each use.
